A community where there are no rich and no poor is a vain idealistic proposition that is born of the "politics of envy". It will never exist because one person will always regard themselves as privileged over another - materially, psychologically or both. I wish it was not so.
Egalitarianism in Spain (1930's) failed due to the organised indifference of the oligarchs of Europe. Pre-Aztec civilisations declined due to internecine competition. Today In regional Mexico it has taken the threat of civilian led violence to deflect external overt organised violence - it remains to be seen if this egalitarian venture can be sustained. As always, I live with hope for peaceful resolutions.
