I watched the Kimmel video. And I believe that he DID make many very good points. Profoundly good, in fact... He even encouraged the Nat'l Guard to NOT do what they believed was morally wrong. And much of what he said, was to expose the MANIPULATION of divide and control.. And to be justifiably ANGRY about it. For a revolution to happen, people FIRST, need to see how they are being manipulated; and to be very very angry about it -- AS A WHOLE. And this, i believe, is what Jimmy Kimmel's monologue accomplished. To know the root cause/ history etc of this happening, in my opinion, for most people.. right NOW... is not as powerful as.... right now... knowing how it is a LIE, a MANIPULATION, and NO ONE ( including the Nat'l Guard), thinks this is MORALLY RIGHT. First things, first.... in my opinion...
What did Jimmy Kimmel say that would have persuaded a person who supports deporting all the illegal immigrants to change their mind? I am talking about a person who thinks that the morally right thing to do is to deport the illegal immigrants.
What exact lie(s) did Jimmy Kimmel refute?
The key lies that cause people to support the deportations are the ones I present in my Substack posts on this topic:
Lie #1: The illegal immigrants are people who just want to live in the United States to enjoy our better country than their own, and they cheat the system to enter illegally, which is like a person cutting in line.
Lie #2: The illegal immigrants are dangerous criminals.
Lie #3: The illegal immigrants disagree with Americans who want to end U.S. government policies that cause massive illegal immigration to the United States.
What did Jimmy Kimmel say to refute any of these KEY lies?
Kimmel says people who have never done anything wrong are being abducted (by ICE.) This is one brief sentence that refutes the "They're all dangerous criminals" lie. Good for that sentence. It is not, however, a strong refutation, which would require telling people that the overall arrest and conviction figures show that illegal immigrants are LESS criminal than American citizens. Who is telling Americans this KEY fact? Not Kimmel.
Regarding the lie that says the immigrants are just people who come to the U.S. to have a better life (which is what all the videos of former U.S. presidents say at the end of the Kimmel video), but are "cutting in line," Kimmel REPEATS this lie and uses the videos of the former presidents to enforce the lie. He does not tell the truth that the illegal immigrants from south of the border and Haiti have been FORCED deliberately by U.S. rulers for decades to enter the U.S. illegally just in order to survive. (Have you read my linked article [at https://johnspritzler.substack.com/p/illegal-immigration-to-the-us-myth?r=1iggn ] about the gory details south of the border and the other article it links to about Haiti?) Kimmel completely covers up this key fact and instead promotes the opposite false view.
Many Americans, quite reasonably, say it's fine for a limited number of people who prefer to live in the United States to come to the U.S. if they do so legally. But, these same people say that it is wrong for huge numbers of such people to enter the U.S. illegally. These people will change their mind and oppose the deportations when they learn that the illegal immigrants are NOT people who just prefer to live in the United States but rather people who have been FORCED to enter the U.S. just in order to survive. This is the KEY secret that Kimmel and Stewart know they would be fired for revealing.
If you listen to the video, he explicitly addresses #1 and #2. And the entirety of his monologue is talking, detail after detail, about how our country, and human dignity, is about accepting immigrants -- and he goes so far as to include video words of 6 presidents who have explicitly declared this. The only thing not discussed is the HISTORY behind it happening; but... as i said, in my opinion -- right now --what is said is reason for reason repeated, how people should see the MANIPULATION ( to control ), the LIES being told... all of which, right now ... is a powerful message for everyone to see. ( and i also pointed out, what is a VERY significant idea for revolution: that when the National Guard/military refuses to act, based on their moral compass .. major change will immediately happen. He explicitly encourages this ! ). It may not be the bullet points you think are important; but for me, it hit a LOT of them... And ... in my mind, right now -- and i am living in Los Angeles and feeling and seeing the sentiments going on here presently -- this was quite a powerful monolgue. When you bake a pie, you don't get the finished pie before you get the ingredients for it. THEN it goes in the oven-- ready to bake !!
