Initially created as an adjunct to the military-industrial complex it was seized by the propagandists and promoted to the glitter seeking public as an instrument of entertainment. Gleeful government agency propagandists bombarded the plebs with glitter and drivel until all sense of rational thinking was neutralised. Before TV became the opiate of the masses (ie prior to 1918) the World was uncontaminated - now it is time to switch the bloody thing off and start thinking what is required for humanity to dig itself out of this pile of excrement and live a decent simple life where all can survive in peace and prosperity.
