Stop the De-Humanization of Our World: Stop Robots Answering When We Call Corporations, Stop Self-Service Check-Out Machines in Stores, Stop AI Fake Human Actors in Films. What's Next? Robot Nurses?

The rich want to robotize our world, to make the rich richer, while treating us like dirt.

Attention skilled computer geeks/hackers! Pleeeeeeeze, at least one of you, create a bug/worm (you could call it “Representative!”) that will destroy the goddamn corporate robot answering machines. Then the corporations will have to go back to hiring real human beings to answer our phone calls and connect us to the other appropriate human being we need to speak with. Then we won’t have to deal with one of those goddamn robots that force us to scream “representative” a thousand times forever to get a real human being to talk to. OK? You’ll do it? Thank you! When you do it you will go down in history as one of the most loved human beings to ever have walked the face of the earth. I promise!

Attention shoppers! Don’t use the goddamn self-checkout. Make the store hire real human beings whom one can talk to and have friendly chit chat with and maybe even get to know and look forward to seeing. Read here about shoppers already doing this.

Attention film aficionados! Boycott films that use AI actors. Who wants to see a film with fake but real-looking AI creations that are used solely to avoid having to pay real people with real acting talent?

The rich are robotizing our world in order to get richer while treating us like dirt. Since the start of the industrial revolution they have been using technology to force more and more have-nots into unemployed poverty while making the have-nots who still have a job fear being replaced by automation if they don’t agree to work for diddley-squat. The rich will keep trying to do this in more and more ways. It’s their nature! Don’t for a minute think they intend to make our lives better with Universal Basic Income, which is a cruel trap as I wrote about here.

Imagine the nightmare future the rich have in store for us:

• robot child care providers?

• robot therapists?

• robot teachers in K-12?

• robot professors?

• robot stage actors?

• robot stand-up comedians?

• robot airline pilots? (“Attention passengers. We have just reached cruising altitude and Global Airlines now wants to congratulate you on being the first passengers of a commercial airline to be flying in a fully automated jet. There are no human pilots on board, and we want to assure you that there is absolutely nothing to worry about…worry about…worry about…worry about..worry about……..”)

• robot baby sitters?

• robot barbers and hairdressers?

• robot taxi/Uber/Lyft drivers?

• robots wives & husbands?

• robot children? (You think they won’t try that too one day? They already make robot playmates for children.)

Don’t go along with this. Resist it!

Technology, per se, is not the problem. The problem is that we live in a dictatorship of the rich who use technology to make our lives worse instead of better, as I have written about here.

The question I asked ChatGPT was this:

“How can a farmer with a boat move a chicken and cabbage to the other side of the river?”

Simple question, uh?

But for ChatGPT this question is too difficult for it to answer intelligently, as you will see in my cut-and-pasted session in which I asked ChatGPT this question below. (ChatGPT uses “You” to refer to the person asking the question.)

This is a classic river crossing puzzle! The farmer needs to transport a chicken and a cabbage across the river with some constraints. Here’s how he can do it safely:

2. Return alone to the original side of the river.

3. Take the cabbage across the river.

4. When he gets to the other side, leave the cabbage but take the chicken back with him to the original side.

5. Leave the chicken on the original side and take the cabbage across to the other side again.

6. Finally, return alone to the original side, and then take the chicken across.

Now, the farmer has successfully transported both the chicken and the cabbage across the river without leaving them together unsupervised, avoiding any problems!

God help anybody, especially a person in need of a physician’s care, who relies on artificial “intelligence” for advice!

This shows that AI is a fancy version of Google search and word completion, with nothing even close to intelligence, not to mention consciousness whatsoever.

Why is AI so stupid?

The reason AI gives such a stupid answer to the simple question I asked it is this. There is a classic (around since the 900s) puzzle/riddle about how a farmer with a boat that can only carry one object besides the farmer can transport to the other side of a river a cabbage, a chicken and a wolf that would eat the chicken if left alone with it. There are a zillion discussions of and answers to this riddle on the internet. ChatGPT, being absolutely devoid of intelligence, ignores the fact that there is no wolf in my question, and looks for sentences and paragraphs online that contain the words “farmer,” “boat,” “river,” “cabbage” and “chicken” and uses its algorithm on these sentences and paragraphs to concoct an “answer” to my simple question—an answer that is totally non-sensical. It is so stupid that it would be impossible to actually follow its instructions!

There is zero intelligence in AI, which is why it can produce a stupid answer to a simple question.
