Thank you for sharing the article, "Sri Lanka’s untold story of resilience: Sarvodaya’s pathway can work anywhere." I wrote about such cooperative economic enterprises at https://www.pdrboston.org/coops-the-solution-no . Do you think what I wrote is true?
Okay, I read the post now https://www.pdrboston.org/coops-the-solution-no. It is indeed an excellent post and brings up a very very important point. I see your point and do agree, it does indeed seem to be true. Thank you 🙏
I think it would be important to put this point across as a reply to the post I initially gave here (this one https://richardflyer.substack.com/p/sri-lankas-untold-story-of-resilience-35d). Should I go ahead and do it or would you like to interact with that post and bring to light the very important point you made about cooperative economic enterprises (that stop short of removing the rich from power and from ownership of resources) ?
Thank you for reading my article and I'm happy to learn you agree with it. I would be happy if you shared my article as a reply to the post about Sri Lanka and kept me informed as to the reaction.
Thank you again for starting a good thread. I notice that the response to my article essentially says that the solution to the problem of divisiveness is to unite around the Golden Rule, which is the universally honored.
I too think the Golden Rule is very important. I write about it at https://www.pdrboston.org/the-golden-rule. But note that I point out that not everybody honors the Golden Rule and that problem cannot just be ignored. I think the symbiotic culture approach does ignore it, however. At least I didn’t read in the thread any explicit acknowledgment of this key problem. Did you?
No, it is definitely not addresed in the short thread itself, but he did link to an essay which is an overview of what he suggests https://richardflyer.substack.com/p/introducing-symbiotic-culture and it might be worth looking there if he addresses this question (i still didn't have the time to read that essay).
And besides this overview essay, he gives all the details in the chapters of his book which he seems to be posting for free as a substack post for each chapter https://richardflyer.substack.com/ So if that question isn't answered in the overview essay then it might be addressed in the detailed chapters (which I also didn't read yet).
If it not addressed in neither the overview nor the chapters of the book then it might be worthwhile to bring up this question with him. I certainly think it is a very important question to address.
Not directly related to the post above, but this might be of interest https://richardflyer.substack.com/p/sri-lankas-untold-story-of-resilience-35d
They seem to be doing something similar to the no rich and no poor egalitarian principles you write about.

Will do so
Thank you. I'll read that post at the first chance I have.
