Hi, this is awful but the first thing I thought of was when Matt Groening of “Simpsons” and “Futurama” fame was a mere syndicated comic strip artist, looking in DC’s “City Paper” sometime in 1983, and seeing his parody of Ms. Magazine. His parody was called “Miffed” and featured Binky Rabbit on the cover. He was saying “G-gosh, I’m sorry!” Articles featured were “Gay men, why won’t they have sex with us?” and a number of other satirical efforts. From earlier in life sometime in my late teens I remember someone sayin “Ms. Was financed by Chase Manhattan which was a CIA money conduit.
My first long term relationship was with a runaway on her third escape from a physically abusive household. She wasn’t any taller than me but had me outweighed and outmuscled. I got the crap beaten out of me periodically until somewhere along the line it became mutual combat. Oddly enough after we broke up we remained friends. I used to joke she was the best sparring partner I ever had, but there is nothing funny about DV. Phone won’t let me do paragraphs but more later. Men generally suck, and have done a horrible job with the world. However, a teacher I had, for "Hermetic Studies" and a number of other classes I can't really remember had this to say: "Go to the museums in Europe, look at the war museums and all the weapons, but also look at all the pretty things women willingly bought with the spoils of war." The Teacher was the Late Susan Edwards, a Lesbian and a Feminist. She was not a misandrist in any sense of the word.
Both of my exes had Mary Daly in their collection, and when I first read Gyn/Ecology: The Metaethics of Radical Feminism I walked around feeling like killing myself for being male for three days. I got over it, however her listing of the crimes of men against women through history gives one pause. She also has some stuff about psychiatry, particularly about shrinks calling people anti-social while associating with some of the worst criminals in existence and giving legitimacy to their world view. Men have in fact fucked the planet up, their leadership is just a dick measuring contest in the form of missiles, and other displays of "toxic masculinity" which is why I have no use for most governments. Oddly enough, Islamic countries have six female presidents. Western Judeo-Christian countries? I'm not even sure at this point, but the female leaders we have had would be what Mary Daly would refer to as "token torturers." Neither gender is immune to control addiction and hatred. Matriarchy? How about just no hierarchy at all, which I think is what egalitarianism calls for?
