Read Here Why the U.S. Does Not Allow Ukraine to Sue For Peace and Instead Insists that It Fight Until It Has No Army Left and Maybe Even No Remaining Sovereign State of Ukraine Left
The U.S. does not fight wars to win them but rather to be at war
As Alexander Mercouris in the above video and in many of his previous videos reports very truly, there is only one way for Ukraine to avoid total military defeat with Russia imposing its terms and with Ukraine being lucky if it can at least remain a sovereign state in the western part of its former land area. The only way to avoid this is by having NATO use nuclear weapons that will turn the conventional war into a WWIII thermonuclear war, in which case the outcome will be unimaginably worse for everybody.
There are two ways the inevitable Ukrainian/NATO military defeat can occur, however. One way is if Ukraine sues for peace to end the war before even more Ukrainians die fighting it. The other way is to to keep fighting until there are no more Ukrainian soldiers left to fight or recruitable Ukrainian civilians left to conscript.
Everybody who seriously examines the current situation and the relative strengths of the Russian versus Ukrainian and NATO military forces understands this.
And yet, the West (led by the U.S.) refuses to allow Ukraine to sue for peace. The U.S. insists that Ukraine keep fighting to the last teenager who can be forcibly conscripted and sent to die in what everybody calls “the meat-grinder”—the frontline of the battle against Russian forces. Russia’s strategy is to wage a war of attrition, which means to let Ukraine keep sending soldiers to the front line where Russia kills them and destroys their tanks, etc. The aim is to destroy Ukraine’s military force. Russia is only secondarily aiming to occupy more Ukrainian territory. The Western press refuses to tell us that Russia is overwhelmingly winning the war of attrition; it points to the fact that Russia is gaining relatively little territory (although this gain is remorseless) to divert attention from the fact that Russia is winning the war of attrition and nothing can prevent the eventual collapse of the Ukraine military force .
Ukraine’s fight has never been morally just, as I discuss here. But even if you disagree with me about this, you surely must wonder why the U.S. does not allow Ukraine to sue for peace, right?
The U.S. has forced Ukraine to do the opposite, militarily, from what common sense would dictate. This is what I mean. Given the obvious and undeniable overwhelming superiority of Russian forces (in terms of manpower and in terms of economic production of tanks and artillery and ammunition), the logical thing for Ukraine to have done would have been to fall back to a position at which it could build the strongest defensive barrier to further Russian advance and then sue for peace.
But instead, the U.S. demanded that Ukraine do the opposite, namely to keep making futile offensive advances against Russian forces and futile efforts (at enormous loss of life of Ukrainian soldiers) to defend every square inch of territory that Russia eventually captures anyway.
In other words, the U.S. insisted that Ukraine NOT obtain the best possible peace settlement and instead just keep fighting and fighting and fighting until there would be no Ukrainian military force left to fight further, and very possibly no sovereign state of Ukraine left at all.
Why?
Why indeed!
The explanation is this. The U.S. does not fight wars to win them, but rather to BE AT WAR as long as possible. The U.S. needs, and when necessary creates, bogeyman enemies in order to have a pretext for being at war. I discuss this in very great detail in my article here. If you want to understand what’s going on in the world I suggest you read it.
